Five Cuban artists specialising in early music compare the most beautiful pages by Marin Marais with the score composed by Cuban Calixto Álvarez (born 1938) based on the famous Folies d'Espagne by the French master of the viol. When minuets and sarabandes become boleros and tangos... A meeting of two composers, two eras, two cultures. The 'Folias americanas' CD will be released in March 2024. The group presented the album on 2 March at 4pm on France Musique in the the programme "Génération France Musique, le live".
