Hiking trail: Monal from parking les Mélèzes

For the more sporty, head for the Monal directly from the Sainte Foy resort. The reward will be even better. Map available at the Tourist Information Point.

From the Hêtres car park, near the restaurant at the resort’s 1,580-metre summit, or from the Mélèzes car park situated near the Placette des Charmettes, take the forest track to the hamlet of L’Échaillon, then follow this path to the listed hamlet of Le Monal. Access by car to the Échaillon car park is prohibited for private vehicles from 1 July to 31 August under municipal by-law 2024/36, which is renewable annually. This measure aims to preserve natural areas, wildlife and flora. Consequently, during the summer season (Monday to Friday), a free shuttle bus service operates from the ‘Les Mélèzes’ car park at the Sainte-Foy resort (see Order 2024/36 via the link below: https://www.saintefoy-tarentaise.fr/arretes-municipaux-reglementant-lacces-aux-routes-dalpages/).
